Nuts and More Title

Meredith had the idea for her nut roasting business for years. Long ago at a county fair, the aroma of cinnamon roasting nuts drew her to a nut roaster in operation. She watched shoppers put that first nut in their mouths and moan with pleasure at the taste. As a person who loves to feed her friends and family, she tucked away the idea of a nut roasting business for some day in the future.

Meredith and her husband Roy (aka Coach) retired after a combined 64 years of teaching and coaching in Texas high schools.

After retirement they searched for a beautiful Texas lake lot, found it, and built their retirement home which they lovingly open to the families of their four children and their many friends. Then the idea of the nut roasting business returned.

Meredith bought the nut roaster and opened her first store in the Marketplace at Canton, Texas. Naming the store “Old Coach Is Nutz” to tease her husband, she created a successful business. Her customers have given her many ideas on expanding her nut business. Executives have wanted her gourmet nuts for corporate gifts, a bride wanted her nuts for wedding favors, a restaurant wanted her nuts for salads, and many people wanted to give her nuts as holiday gifts.

Meredith and Roy enjoy southern hospitality in every sense, and they love spreading that sweet goodness of the South to all their customers.
